I am a clinical epidemiologist with more than 15 years research experience and eight years post-doctoral experience. My research journey started in 2009 when I undertook a PhD study in epidemiology at the Garvan institute of Medical Research (UNSW), specializing in osteoporosis and bone diseases.
I completed my PhD in 2017 and have been working at the School of Clinical Medicine focusing on paediatric respiratory health issues. Since then, I have led or coordinated more than 20 projects examining conditions such as asthma, COVID-19, influenza, RSV and other viral diseases. My work involves applying advanced statistical methods across a wide range of study designs, including observational, interventional, translational, epidemiological, linkage and survey studies.
While working through my PhD, I worked at the Clinical Excellence Commission on the TOP 5 project aiming to improve care for dementia patients. In addition, I have a background in molecular biology, having earned a Bachelor Degree with Honours, with experience on genetic analysis of childhood VCFS.
I actively mentor and supervise medical students and serves as an editorial board member for scientific journal and peer reviewer of multiple journal articles.
