I am a Research Fellow in the Musculoskeletal Health Program, at The George Institute for Global Health and a conjoint lecturer with SBMS. I was awarded my PhD from UNSW in 2021. My primary research focus is the role of exercise and supplements in enhancing exercise outcomes in disease models. My previous work investigated the potential synergism of exercise and novel supplements in obesity, type 2 diabetes and metabolic disease.

I am passionate about teaching and supervision. Currently, I am particularly interested in exploring novel interventions (surgical, pharmacological and lifestyle) for musculoskeletal conditions to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

My Qualifications

PhD (Pharmacology and Physiology), UNSW Sydney - 2021

BSc (Hons 1), UNSW Sydney - 2017

My Awards

Best Oral Presentation Winner, Seoul International Congress on Endocrinology and Metabolism - 2024

PIncus-Taft Young Investigator Award, Australasian Diabetes Congress - 2023

Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship - 2018

My Research Activities

Osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal diseases are major public health concerns, causing pain, disability, and high healthcare costs. Exercise is a proven intervention to improve symptoms and function, but patient adherence is low due to discomfort and lack of motivation. My research focuses on developing novel therapeutic strategies to enhance exercise outcomes, making it easier and more effective for patients to manage their condition.
