Biography

Jenny Robinson is an accomplished educator, with a rewarding career as a secondary school Music teacher and Head Teacher. She began teaching secondary Music Methods at UNSW in 2011, and gained the role of Secondary Methods Coordinator in 2019.

Jenny Robinson is an accomplished educator, with a rewarding career as a secondary school Music teacher and Head Teacher. She began teaching secondary Music Methods at UNSW in 2011, and gained the role of Secondary Methods Coordinator in 2019.

Jenny's Master of Music (Music Education) thesis explored the characteristics of inspirational music teachers and her PhD thesis focussed on 'Factors influencing the working lives of Australian secondary school music teachers'.

In 2025 Jenny was appointed as a lecturer in the School of Education, teaching in the Master of Education, Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Master of Teaching (Secondary) and Bachelor of Education (Primary) programs.

Jenny is passionate about music education and sustaining teachers throughout their careers.

My Engagement

Jenny is the current NSW Vice Chair of the Australian Society for Music Education (ASME) which promotes advocacy and professional development for music teachers.
