Prof Jayashri Ravishankar has been with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW since 2010. Prof Jayashri Ravishankar has been with the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW since 2010. She is a Scientia Education Fellow and currently serves as Associate Dean (Education) in the Faculty of Engineering. Nationally and internationally recognised, she is renowned for her award-winning, research-led, and innovative teaching practices that reflect her deep passion for engineering education.

Prof Ravishankar leads best-practice, advanced teaching in electrical engineering, designing creative initiatives that foster student ownership through active learning and cultivate industry-relevant skills. She has published more than 30 SoTL papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and has delivered over 80 invited keynotes worldwide. In 2020, she pioneered a new model for an engineering education PhD program, graduating the first two students in 2024, alongside the successful supervision of 16 HDR completions in her disciplinary field.

Her contributions extend well beyond teaching, through significant leadership and service to her School, Faculty, and UNSW, underscoring her commitment to institutional growth and success. Her professional esteem is reflected in multiple accolades, including UNSW and Faculty Teaching Excellence Awards, Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (UK), and a national Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning (AAUT).
