Dr Ryan Essex is a Research Fellow at the George Institute. His work critically engages with health, ethics, and power. His research interests encompass migrant health, public health, protest and anarchist theory. Ryan is currently based in Australia and is the author of Anarchism and health: Organising for health without the state and other forms of domination (Bloomsbury, forthcoming 2026) and co-editor of Resistance, activism & health: Global perspectives on solidarity and the struggle for health (Oxford University Press, forthcoming 2026).
