Dr Lachlan Oldfield is a Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy, UNSW, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He completed his PhD in 2025, focusing on improving access to essential medicines and strengthening pharmaceutical healthcare systems in low- and lower-middle-income countries. Lachlan is a dedicated educator with expertise in medicinal biochemistry, pharmacology, and professional practice. His teaching spans areas such as evidence-based medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, and patient-centred care, with a strong emphasis on integrating scientific principles with real-world healthcare challenges. His research interests bridge the fields of pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, and healthcare policy, focusing on improving medicine accessibility and optimising therapeutic outcomes in underserved populations with publications in top medical journals such as The Lancet Global Health, British Medical Journal Public Health and The Lancet Western Pacific.
