Vicki is the Senior Research Associate at the Centre for the Future of the Legal Profession, Faculty of Law & Justice, UNSW. Vicki has over 30 years of experience across the legal profession and is admitted to practice law in NSW. She has held leadership roles in global and Australian law firms, and corporate legal operations teams in the financial services and FMCG sectors, in addition to her experience as a practising lawyer. Her key areas of professional expertise include Knowledge Management (KM) (including KM strategy to build enterprise knowledge culture, systems and processes); Legal Technology (including assessment, acquisition, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence); and Innovation (particularly in law firms and corporate legal teams).

My Research Activities

Vicki’s research currently focuses on the impact of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) on the legal profession and legal services; responsible adoption of GenAI in litigation and dispute resolution processes; addressing unmet legal need through deregulation and technology; recruitment and retention strategies within the legal profession; and developing essential skills and competencies for legal leadership roles. These areas will expand as the work of the Centre progresses.
