Biography

Dr Samrat Sarkar holds a Bachelor of Optometry degree from West Bengal University of Technology, India, and a Master of Applied Science (Research) degree from the School of Optometry and Vision Science, Queensland University of Technology, Australia. After working in both clinical and research sectors at prestigious eye hospitals in India, Dr Sarkar enrolled in the PhD program at the SOVS, UNSW in 2021 and completed his PhD on Objective measurement of near vision behaviour and light exposure in children with myopia in 2025. Presently, Dr Sarkar is working as a post-doctoral fellow in the myopia research group at the School of Optometry and Vision Science.

My Teaching

  As a casual academic, I am assisting in practical classes of OPTM 6421 - Binocular Vision, Paediatrics and Low Vision course for undergraduate students.
