Dr Liu is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW, as a member of Prof. Kang Liang’s research group. She received both her PhD (2024) and Master’s degree (2020) in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University, China. Her research focuses on the design and fabrication of multifunctional nanomaterials, particularly reticular frameworks such as hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), for biomedical applications. These include targeted therapy, drug delivery, enzyme catalysis, imaging-guided treatment, and the development of MOF-based nanomotors for enhanced tumour penetration.
Dr Liu has published eight journal articles, including Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., and ACS Sustain. Chem. Eng. In addition, she has co-invented two patents and contributed to four book chapters in a nationally endorsed postgraduate textbook “Enzyme Engineering: Principle and Application”. She has supervised more than 10 Master’s and PhD students. She was awarded the UNSW Global Research and Impact Program (GRIP) Fellowship, enabling collaborative research with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
