Biography

Vivian is a researcher and educator in Information Systems whose work focuses on human-centred technology design and implementation. She completed her PhD at the UNSW Business School, where her doctoral research examined how digital platforms can be governed and designed to responsibly engage complementors and foster long-term relationships.

Vivian is a researcher and educator in Information Systems whose work focuses on human-centred technology design and implementation. She completed her PhD at the UNSW Business School, where her doctoral research examined how digital platforms can be governed and designed to responsibly engage complementors and foster long-term relationships.

She is passionate about exploring how digital technologies can shape and empower individuals, contributing to the greater good of society. She conducted case studies across China, Vietnam, Mongolia and Indonesia to explore how digital innovation can better align with human needs and deliver meaningful outcomes. She has worked on initiatives ranging from platform governance and fairness management to responsible AI adoption in creative industries, as well as action design research projects that develop digital solutions to support renewable energy transitions in Mongolia. She also examines how digital innovation in information systems can contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Her research has been published and presented at major international conferences, including the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), and the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS). She received the Best Runner-Up Paper Award at the 2021 PACIS conference.
