Dr Ereeny Mikhail is an Optometrist, Researcher, Educator, and Volunteer. Her research interests include ocular surface disease, and public health. She completed her Masters and PhD in these areas. Dr Ereeny Mikhail is an Optometrist, Researcher, Educator, and Volunteer. Her research interests include ocular surface disease, and public health. She completed her Masters and PhD in these areas. Through her optometric clinical work, she has developed the knowledge, attitude and experience needed in the optometric field to understand patients’ needs, with a keen interest in bettering the quality of life of these patients. Moreover, she is an educator that believes that education is the beginning of instilling innovations and creativity to the next generation of clinicians and researchers, which will ultimately better the world we live in. Finally, she has volunteered as an Optometrist in third-world countries and which allowed her to develop a greater understanding of cultural sensitivity, and geographic barriers to accessing healthcare. All these aspects demonstrate her strong commitment to global citizenship.
