Dr. Alessandro Negri is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Biological Resources Imaging Laboratory (BRIL), UNSW Sydney, and a National Imaging Facility (NIF) Fellow. His expertise lies in nanoscience and advanced imaging technologies, particularly the development and application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic particle imaging (MPI) for preclinical research.
He completed his Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Advanced Technologies at the University of Verona (2021–2024), focusing on superparamagnetic iron-oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) for cancer diagnostics and hyperthermia therapies. During his doctorate, he was a visiting Ph.D. student at UNSW, where he contributed to multimodal imaging studies combining MRI and MPI.
At UNSW, Alessandro develops and optimises imaging protocols, supports researchers nationally through NIF, and contributes to multidisciplinary projects spanning oncology, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine.
